To Whom It May Concern,  A partial shutdown of the federal government has begun due to our president has taking a hard line on funding for a wall on our southern border while democrats have dug their heals in disagreeing with both the necessity and potential effectiveness of the proposed barrier while refusing to approve the Billions of dollars that the president requested.
In response to the opinion letter, "Sweeney is Right About Pension Reform," The Record 12.24.2018, we respectfully submit the following:   If the writer from south Jersey has been a state employee for 20 years, he must know the history of the degradation of the once-healthy state pension system.

For those of you that are interested, attached is a New York Times Magazine article that explains how Governor Walker of Wisconsin split the Unions and broke their backs.   Now he wants to run for President.  How did such anti-union sentiment get such a foothold?  Is this the end of Labor.
